Architecture & amenities

Designed for loft living, built a little taller.

Thrush broke ground in June 2005. FitzGerald Associates drew a 14-story glass-and-concrete tower that sits six to eight stories above the West Loop’s traditional lofts — so the views are the point.

The tower

Glass, concrete, and a two-story arrival.

740 Fulton is a boutique high-rise of 132 residences. Living floors begin above the garage. Many homes open onto private balconies; penthouses reach 18-foot ceilings and rooftop terraces.

Listings and residents describe a renovated lobby, on-site management, 24-hour door staff, a fitness room, and a lounge / meeting room with kitchen — the hospitality room the association actually uses.

FitzGerald Associates

Loft character, high-rise light.

Architect Patrick FitzGerald described the project as loft living with a better vantage: walls of glass, open plans, exposed ductwork, hardwood floors, and painted concrete ceilings — then stainless kitchens and granite counters so the homes work as finished residences, not raw artist studios.

The result is a building that still reads as West Loop: industrial bones, contemporary glass, and a street presence at the gateway to Fulton Market.
